WHAT IS THE PGIF?

In accordance with Pitzer College’s core values, the Pitzer Green Initiative Fund (PGIF) seeks to engage students in social responsibility and environmental sustainability by encouraging innovative and creative solutions to environmental problems. The PGIF aims to foster a collaborative and interdisciplinary learning process and will enable students to take ownership of their community by constructing a sustainable vision for the future of Pitzer College

The PGIF Grant Committee, comprised of student voting members and faculty/staff advisors, provides one-time grants to students for sustainable initiatives on campus. In the 2014/15 academic year, the PGIF was funded by the Campus Life Committee and ReRoom.  In following years it is hoped that the majority of the money will be generated by the enactment of a $5 student activities fee.
